Bakersfield College CA sophomore Gabriella Lugo clocked 18:13.4 to place seventh in the women's 5-kilometer race at the Southern California Community College Regional Championships at Don Knabe Park in Cerritos, Calif. It was a big turnaround for the sophomore, as she finished 83rd in last year's race and 19th at the So Cal Preview meet Sept. 14, when she ran 19:35 on the same course.
